my first sleepover

while they were here, grammy and grampa rented a condo so they could watch me overnight and let mommy and daddy get some uninterrupted sleep. the next morning when they came to pick me up i was pretty chipper, i didn't really miss them all that much.

and surprisingly, grammy and grampa don't even look that tired!

My First Christmas

my first christmas was quite an extravaganza! grammy and grampa hermann came in from montana, uncle ric was here from indiana, and auntie mere came all the way from new york to help me learn about the joys of the holiday. we had a tree with a lot of sparkly stuff on it, including a new ornament that mommy made for me, and more packages to open than you can imagine. luckily everyone helped me out as i really just wanted to play with my new toys and all the paper and ribbon. mommy and me on christmas eve

i spent a lot of time in this most excellent walker from great-grandma ceil... and look at me, i now have my own crocs! she was also responsible for my i heart santa outfit, perfect for the day.

Daddy's Birthday Trip to NYC!

my daddy's birthday was december 3rd, and seeing how it was a big one (i won't reveal his actual age) we had a week's worth of celebrating to do. first we had a nice dinner in nashville for steak and i wore a special shirt mommy and i made
and then we were off to new york and connecticut. we stayed with our friends david and alexandra and i got to meet solomon and hannah and play in their fantastic playroom. look closely and you'll see hannah and i have matching pajamas!

it was quite a bit colder there so i got to don my new snowsuit from grammy ginna... it is so stylin' and i love the fur. made for cozy napping even outside.

snoozing in times square! new york city was so much fun that we forgot to take pictures because we were too busy shopping, eating, and frolicking! at least daddy caught one of me managing to sleep through all the traffic and commotion.

my first thanksgiving

i am so thankful for my wonderful family, all the great things i get to do every day, and most of all, for fruit! i love fruit! if only mommy and daddy would let me substitute apples for peas and pears for sweet potatoes, i would be the happiest baby ever!
here i am wearing my great-grandfather's baby dress - hard to believe that my great-great-grandmother found time to tat all this lace when there was no running water or electricity, not to mention rubber pants for baby diapers!

six months old!

it's been a while since i've posted so here are a few from the past couple of weeks. uncle ric came by for a visit and read me a bedtime story.my first taste of sweet potatoes. not sure about them in the beginning...

but, maybe they're not so bad. we'll see what they give me next.

i had my six month check-up and i remain tall and thin - 13 lbs 11 ozs and 26 inches long. the doctor wants me eating three meals a day by nine months so i have some work to do. i'll let you know what my favorite foods are soon.

and another week goes by with so much excitement. had to start with this one because i can't resist, i am so darn cute.
halloween - i loved being a carrot although everyone thought i was a pumpkin. it was fun passing out candy with mommy and daddy and there were so many great costumes on parade.

my cousin ashley came for a visit, we rested a lot and i played with her fingers. here i am much more interested in my rooster than in her, but that was just for a short moment.

mommy and daddy got me a highchair and set it up this weekend on "hazel day" (they also lowered my crib and built my toy box). i am loving feeling so independent when i eat now.
